Dental billing software: from treatment plan to paid invoice

Billing in Devign Dentistry starts from the treatment your clinic has actually done. Completed procedures become invoice lines, payments are recorded against the invoice in whole or in parts, and the balance stays visible until it is zero. The clinic chooses the currency symbol, and an invoice can be downloaded as a PDF.

From plan to invoice

A treatment plan is built from your procedure catalogue, with a code, a category, a default price and a duration for each treatment. When the work is done, the invoice is created from the completed procedures, so what was performed and what is charged come from the same record. Invoices are numbered automatically, in the form INV-2026-00001.

Payments and balances

  • Part-payments. Record any number of payments against one invoice, for treatment paid in stages.
  • Payment method. Each payment is recorded as cash, card or insurance.
  • Status. An invoice moves between draft, issued, partially paid and paid, and can be marked overdue or cancelled.
  • Discounts. Apply a discount as a fixed amount or a percentage, with a reason.

Your currency, your PDF

Type the currency symbol your clinic bills in, for example $, AED, SAR or EGP, and invoices and reports use it. Download one invoice, or a report of invoices, as a PDF. The reports section also includes monthly revenue.

Who can see billing

Roles decide who works with money. A secretary can manage invoices and payments without opening clinical charts; a dentist works with charts and plans. See the four roles on the pricing page.

What billing does not do

  • It does not calculate VAT or any other tax automatically, and it is not connected to any tax authority's e-invoicing system. We do not claim its invoices meet any official tax-invoice format.
  • It does not submit insurance claims. A payment can be recorded as insurance, but nothing is sent to an insurer.
  • Patients cannot pay online. Payments are recorded by clinic staff.
  • Amounts have two decimal places, and the invoice PDF uses a standard font with English labels, so Arabic letters do not print correctly in it.

Questions about dental billing

How is an invoice created?

From completed treatment. Completed procedures become invoice lines, and the invoice gets an automatic number.

Can a patient pay in instalments?

Yes. An invoice accepts several payments, each recorded as cash, card or insurance, and shows the amount paid and the balance until it is settled.

Can I use my own currency?

Yes. Set the currency symbol in the clinic settings and invoices and reports use it. Amounts are shown with two decimal places.

Does it handle VAT or e-invoicing?

No. There is no automatic VAT calculation and no connection to a tax authority's e-invoicing system. If your clinic must issue tax invoices or e-invoices, keep that part in a system built for it.

Can I download invoices?

Yes. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF, and a report of invoices can be exported as a PDF. The PDF uses a standard font with English labels, so Arabic letters do not print correctly in it.

Who can see the billing screens?

Access depends on the role. A secretary works with invoices and payments; clinical screens such as the dental chart are for dentists. All users are included in the price.
